True design shouldn't just sit flat on a screen; it needs to react to its environment. If a piece looks the same in a sterile room as it does inside a dark, loud basement lounge or a bar, it hasn't pushed hard enough.
To be entirely honest, I am completely uninterested in creating what other people can easily design. Most people do the classic black line drawing on a white background—it's been done to death, it's safe, and it's normal. Anyone can do that. Right now, I am hungry to test and aggressively push my own boundaries through raw illustration in this laboratory. I want to create things that make people stop and talk about the storytelling.
Welcome to the experimental phase of the final anchor for the Desaru Whispers Collection: The Lion Fish.
This illustration utilizes the lethal architecture of the lionfish—a structure I call Toxic Geometry. I love eyes, and I love the heavy texture of raw danger. By fusing these sharp, toxic barbs with heavy, lo-fi red and black backgrounds captured from a pixelated Joji concert screenshot, the canvas carries an immediate, atmospheric weight. The red is pure danger, and the contrast is strong.
But the true heartbeat of this experiment belongs to the night.
I am currently engineering this illustration with a hidden UV-light transformation, custom-built for dangerous minds and out-of-the-box people. The goal? When this artwork eventually hits physical spaces, a step under a club or disco blacklight will completely shift the frequencies, mutating it into another color reality entirely. One piece of art, two lives.
In this blog post, you are seeing the raw, unfinished blueprint. And yes, for the purists who love the classics, I am also testing the clean, high-contrast black-and-white vanilla types too, lol.
