Mixing Abstracts with Chinese New Year: A Design Journey
Share
I'm mixing my beloved abstracts with the Chinese New Year collection—these elements will shape my coming designs.
The fusion of abstract art with traditional Chinese New Year symbolism creates a unique visual language that bridges contemporary design with cultural celebration. This approach allows the bold, expressive nature of abstract forms to dance alongside the rich heritage of Lunar New Year traditions.
Our Creative Process
I usually start by describing my ideas with my creative partner, Yavuz, and from there, it slowly builds. Now, I record video reels so my audience can see how we spiral from illustration to wearable art—capturing the organic evolution of each design as it takes shape.

The Kurt Camer Storytelling Collection
These abstract elements draw inspiration from the narrative-driven approach of the Kurt Camer Storytelling Collection, where each piece tells its own story through color, form, and movement.
The coming designs will blend these abstract sensibilities with the vibrant energy of Chinese New Year—creating wearable art that honors tradition while pushing creative boundaries.
