Styling the Herdla Skull Collection: Heritage Meets Street Fashion

Styling the Herdla Skull Collection: Heritage Meets Street Fashion

Styling the new Herdla Skull collection—a t-shirt and bandana that embody everything I love about street fashion: raw, layered, and unapologetically bold.

From Fashion Magazine to Wearable Art

Years ago, I worked as a graphic designer at a fashion magazine in Malaysia, surrounded by incredibly creative people at Blu Inc. Those days shaped how I see fashion—not just as clothing, but as storytelling. Now, I do everything myself. And honestly? I love it.

Being immobile these days means sitting down and creating has become my world. Street fashion from the big cities inspires me most—the way vintage pieces mix with skulls, lace meets darkness, softness contrasts with edge. That tension, that contrast—it's everything.

Wearing Stories: My Uncle's Jacket

I believe in inheriting clothing from those who've passed and bringing it into the present. It's not just about preservation—it's about transformation, about honoring memory through style.

I inherited an old black wool jacket from my uncle who passed away in the 1960s. His clothes were sent back from Germany to Malaysia, and now I'm wearing his jacket in Norway. I never met him, but wearing his piece connects us across time and continents. My mum knows what I'm doing...and I hope, somehow, he'd be proud.

I styled it with my wearable art—mixing his story with mine.

Note: The styling photos feature the Herdla Skull pieces mixed with my personal wardrobe, brown beret and black suede jacket—the vintage wool jacket from my uncle is not in this photo. Only the bandana and t-shirt are available.

Wearable Art: Raw Photography Meets Digital Illustration

The Herdla Skull collection is a collaboration—my raw photography layered with digital illustration by Yavuz Başol. Two mediums, two perspectives, one vision: art that lives beyond the canvas and becomes part of your everyday narrative.
